Running on a Cambered Road

As runners, due to safety we have to run facing traffic. Ideally we should be alternating sides of the road- against traffic/facing traffic/middle of the road
The camber built into the side of the road, which we do not feel, alters the biomechanics and alignment of the body. The one leg is on slightly more of an upslope then the other.
The altered biomechanics/alignment causes:
👣 A tilted pelvis- one hip is higher then the other
👣 Foot pronation- the arch drops
👣 Knee Rotation- the knee rotates inwards
👣 Shoulder drop- the one shoulder drops lower then the other
How does this affect your muscles?
💪 Weak Gluteal muscles
💪 Tight Hamstrings
💪 Tight Lower Back muscles
💪 Tight Adductors (inner thigh muscles)
Due to the above,we become more prone to running related injuries such as Runners Knee, Hip Pain,Achilles Tendinitis, Plantar Fasciitis, Hip Bursitis ,ITB and many more
Chiropractic care involves the assessment of altered biomechanics and treatment of misalignment in the spine and joints. This is done through manipulation (alignment) and mobilization of the spine and surrounding joints
For injury treatment and more importantly INJURY PREVENTION,it is important to see your chiropractor regularly for alignment and maintenance
