Interferntial Current(I.F.C)
Interferential current, also known as Electrotherapy, is a type of electrical stimulation that uses electrodes to send small amounts of electrical stimulation to damaged tissues in the body.
The therapy is meant to boost the body's natural process of responding to pain, by increasing circulation which produces hormones that promote healing.
Interferential current can;
- Reduce pain and inflammation
- Reduce muscle spam and stiffness
- Increase circulation
- Reduce swelling
- Stimulate muscles
Some of the conditions treated include:
- Neck and Back pain
- Joint pain and Arthritis
- Slipped/Herniated disc
- Sciatica/Pinched nerve
- Ligament/Tendon injuries
- Muscle stimulation- re-education of muscles post-surgery/injury
Interferential can be beneficial on its own, however it’s commonly used and more effective with other treatment modalities such as dry needling, dry cupping and massage.
